In order for MetaLAN to discover and administer the computers on a network the following Windows Firewall settings must be in place on the client computers. Please see the following article for details : Windows Firewall Settings for Metalan
To diagnose possible problems with the target computers, even though the required firewall policy are applied, please do the following:
- Download HSDiag from the hammer software website : http://www.hammer-software.com/download/hsdiag.zip
- Unzip and run the HSDiag.exe file
- Click “Diagnose” in the left of the window
- Enter then name of the of the computers that MetaLAN will not discover
- Click the “Run Diagnostic” button
- Examine the log for errors
Note: It is normal for the “Registry Test” to fail on Windows Vista and later version of Windows. This does not cause any problems with MetaLAN.
